Emis/Pfizer

EMIS hold most of the UK’s NHS data, from treatments and medication to appointments. Pfizer have an AI tool that analyses this type of data, and predicts an individual’s risk of a heart condition called atrial fibrillation.

The project brief: Implement Pfizer’s AI algorithm to run regularly across EMIS patient data, and notify GPs when a patient is at risk of atrial fibrillation.

The implementation: A hybrid-cloud infrastructure that runs both batch and continuous data analysis across a very large dataset (trillions of records).

The outcome: A world-class AI tool capable of better-than-human predictions of atrial fibrillation, integrated with existing medical software and rolled out to GP practices across the UK.
